There will be a 90-minute Zoom session to provide an orientation to the program, the writing platform, and the Zoom itself, which will be held on June 5, 2020, at 8:00 a.m. US Pacific Time / 11:00 am US Eastern Time. This program that follows will consist of six, 90-minute Zoom meetings on Tuesdays and Fridays during the period June 9th through 26th. Additional work will occur individually and in small groups on the writing platform which may be viewed at https://wet.ink/. Tuesday sessions will include short, focused input on writing topics, followed by breakout sessions for reviewing manuscripts and other discussions. Friday sessions will be devoted to sharing about the experience of writing for each participant, progress and obstacles encountered with current projects, and discussion of the broader meaning of writing in each person’s life, practice, or career.
The NTL Writers' Hub will offer a virtual program this June limited to twelve participants. Preference will be given to those who have previously expressed interest and other NTL members. The program will accommodate both active and aspiring writers. This writers' learning community will support those who have specific writing projects as well as those who are interested in exploring their writing process or finding their own voice. This workshop welcomes writing that is creative as well as analytical and we will work with practitioners in a variety of genres including, but not limited to: poetry, fiction, memoir, research through a variety of methodologies, case studies of practice, and theoretical work. We will also discuss why, how, and where to publish.
Sessions will be scheduled so as to be reasonably accessible to a global audience. Participants should expect to devote at least 4 hours per week to their writing (or developmental assignments) in addition to the 2 weekly virtual sessions. NTL Writer’s Hub leaders Kate Cowie, David Kiel, and Ted Tschudy will join Program Dean, Yvette Angelique Hyater-Adams, in leading sessions and coaching participants. The cost is $305. When you register, you will be invoiced by the NTL Central Office. If you have questions or need to make alternative payment arrangements please email Yvette at email@example.com.
